CSR and sustainability
KBM Affilips group has built a solid reputation as a globally operating supplier of master alloys. As part of Roba group of companies this reputation is based on shared core values of the group: a strong customer focus, flexibility, cost and quality awareness, trustworthiness and social responsibility. Corporate Social ResponsibilityThe latter is reflected in our corporate Code of conduct which is likewise a precondition for cooperation with the suppliers in our supply chain. Evidently this code includes topics like conflict minerals and international sanctions legislation. KBM Affilips' CSR efforts, together with its solid business operations supported by management systems in the areas of environment, quality and occupational health & safety, offer customers the peace of mind of a reliable and fully compliant partner with a long-term vision. EcoVadisIndependent assessments of our ESG performance by EcoVadis confirm that we are delivering on our commitments in this area. Focus on sustainability - joining forces with customersKBM Affilips stems from a family where commitment to sustainability has been in the genes for decades. After all, Roba Metals was founded in 1937 as a metals recycling company, which remains a core business to this day. This provides the KBM Affilips plants, where the group's master alloys are produced, with both in-depth knowledge and sourcing facilities to optimise the use of secondary raw materials to 'close the loop'. To emphasize this, the company included standard alloys labelled 'ECO-grade' in its product range. Moreover KBM Affilips is keen to explore with its customers whether their specifications can be further adapted to allow a higher proportion of recycled raw materials. In this way, we can join forces in the supply chain towards circularity. Our sustainability goalsKBM Affilips has set out its sustainability ambitions in a "climate protection statement”. It states that the company endorses the EU emission reduction targets laid down in the EU Green Deal and the Fit for 55 program, reducing its emissions by at least 55% by 2030 and be climate-neutral by the year 2050. KBM Affilips’ designated Decarbonization Team is working steadily on carbon reduction measures to achieve the set targets in time and on refining the footprint inventory as well as the intensity metrics. The company’s carbon footprint inventory is carried out in accordance with the international GHG-Protocol. Currently, customers can already request statements by product for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. The company has set itself the goal of saving as much energy as possible on the one hand and switching to renewable energy sources such as solar and wind wherever possible on the other. For example, the group's largest Dutch factory already runs 100% on wind power. |
